Pool Repair
Pumps, heaters, salt cells, chlorinators, lights and automation — plus the coping and patio around the pool. We find out what actually failed, then quote the fix.
Two Kinds of Repair Call
Most calls are equipment — something on the pad stopped doing its job. The rest are the hard surfaces around the pool, where a settled paver or a lifted coping stone turns into a stubbed toe. We take both.
Estimate requiredAround the Pool
Coping
The cap where the deck meets the shell. Stones lift, settle and work loose as the ground moves through Ohio winters.
Pool patios
Pavers and concrete around the pool — settling, uneven joints and the spots that have stopped sitting flat.
Both are quoted after we come see them. No two decks fail the same way, so there's no flat number to give you over the phone.
Equipment We Repair
Pumps
Motors, seals, lids and baskets — the loud ones and the ones that won't prime.
Heaters
Gas and heat pump units that won't fire, short-cycle or never reach temperature.
Salt cells
Scaled plates, falling output and the power supplies that drive them.
Chlorinators
Tab feeders and liquid systems that over-feed, under-feed or leak.
Lights
Fixtures, gaskets and the niche behind them, on color and white LED.
Automation
Panels, valve actuators and app control that dropped offline.
What the $250 Covers
There's a flat $250 trip charge for diagnostics. That buys the visit and the diagnosis — finding out what actually failed, instead of guessing at parts. What happens after that depends on the repair.
There is a $250 trip charge for diagnostics. Parts and tax are additional. Depending on the repair required, additional labor will be quoted and charged.
Coping and pool patio work is estimate-required — we come look at the deck first and quote that separately.
The trip charge
$250 flat. It covers coming out to your pool and putting hands on the problem.
The diagnosis
We find what failed and tell you what fixing it actually involves.
Labor, quoted
Depending on the repair required, additional labor is quoted and charged.
Parts and tax
Billed in addition to the labor, on top of the trip charge.
What Is It Actually Doing?
Pick what you're seeing. We'll tell you the usual cause, the couple of things worth checking yourself, and the point where it stops being a homeowner job.
Pump is loud or won't prime
Usual Cause
Usually air getting in on the suction side, a basket packed with debris, or a seal and bearing set that has reached the end of its life.
Worth Checking First
- 1Check the water level — below mid-skimmer and the pump pulls air
- 2Empty the skimmer and pump baskets
- 3Look at the pump lid o-ring; dry or cracked, it lets air straight in
- 4Watch for water weeping at the unions or pooling under the motor
When to Stop and Call
A grinding or screaming motor is bearings, and a puddle under the pump is the shaft seal. Neither is an adjustment. Shut it off and call before the motor takes the rest of the pump with it.
Repaired by the Crew That Builds Them
Fiberglass Specialists
We're an authorized San Juan dealer. We install this equipment for a living, which is why we're quick at telling what failed on it.
Diagnosis Before Parts
The trip charge buys a diagnosis, not a guess. You find out what actually broke before anyone orders a part for it.
Pad and Deck Both
Most repair outfits do equipment or hardscape. We work on the equipment pad and on the coping and patio around the pool.

Repair Questions
What owners ask before booking a repair visit. If yours isn't here, just call — we'd rather answer it than have you guess at a part.
(614) 384-5081There is a flat $250 trip charge for diagnostics. That covers coming out and finding what actually failed. From there, parts and tax are additional, and depending on the repair required, additional labor is quoted and charged. The reason it works this way is that two pumps making the same noise can be a $40 o-ring or a new motor, and nobody can tell you which over the phone.
The visit and the diagnosis. We come to your pool, put hands on the equipment, and tell you what failed and what fixing it involves. It is not a deposit on parts and it is not an hourly rate — it is the flat cost of getting a real answer instead of a guess.
Yes. Plenty of our service calls are on pools another builder put in. We'll baseline the equipment on the first visit and go from there. If we find something we're not the right crew for, we'll tell you that too.
Yes, and those work differently from equipment calls. Coping and pool patios are estimate-required: we come look at the deck, measure what's moved, and quote the reset. There's no flat number for hardscape because no two decks fail the same way.
Our repair list covers the equipment and the hard surfaces around the pool. Shell and gelcoat questions usually run through the San Juan warranty rather than a service call — take a look at our warranty page, or call and we'll point you to the right path for what you're seeing.
Often, yes. If you're on a regular cleaning schedule with us, repairs get priority scheduling, and small fixes we spot on a maintenance trip can frequently be handled without a separate diagnostic visit. Larger repairs still get quoted before we do them.
